The Volunteer Center of Kern County was established February 1972, celebrating over 30 years of service to the community. The Volunteer Center of Kern County, Inc. is comprised of three agencies functioning as one central location for volunteerism efforts in Kern County.
Volunteer Exchange Program: Volunteers ranging in age from pre-school to 54 years of age.
RSVP - Senior Corps Program: Senior volunteers who are aged 55 and above.
Court Referral/Community Service Program: An alternate sentencing program utilized by court and probation in lieu of incarceration and/or fines.
Teens Make A Difference Program: Teens can impact their own community through volunteerism. Explore educational and future career choices and make a difference for Kern County's future.
Corporate Volunteer Program: Corporations can involve employees in projects throughout Kern County assisting local non profits with addressing local concerns.
Issue Education: Community members meet in town hall forums to discuss issues directly related to different areas of Kern County. Organizations interact with residents to discuss ways that they can get involved.
2-1-1 Partnership: Information and Referral Service sponsored by United Way of Kern County through Community Action Partnership of Kern. Volunteer Center serves as contact for volunteerism related issues.
