Description:
Establish contact with runaway, homeless, and vulnerable youth in the Fresno community.
•Distribute emergency food, clothing, and hygiene supplies to homeless youth.
•Provide resource referrals, information and follow-up support on housing, and appropriate alternative living arrangements to encourage youth to return to a safe place, shelter or their home.
•Assist youth in accessing community resources for employment, education, and health care.
•Provide one-on-one and small group counseling.
•Conduct recreational and life skills activities at the youth drop in center.
•Assist with other duties as assigned.

This is a full time service opportunity with a one year commitment
•Applicants must be at least 18 years of age and a U.S. citizen or Permanent Resident
•High school diploma or GED required, prefer individuals working towards or possessing a college degree
•Prefer individuals who possess a valid CA Drivers License and have reliable transportation
•Able to pass the Department of Justice background check
•Excellent oral and written communication skills; Bilingual preferred but not required
•Able to serve an average of 34 hours per week for 12 months
•History of community involvement and a desire to “get things done”
•Able to work independently, and be a positive and productive member of a work team
•Hard working, self-starter, trainable, motivated to learn
•Willing/able to attend community events in the evenings and/or on the weekends
•Computer/administrative skills preferred
