California State University of Fresno California State University, Fresno's Students for Community Service (SCS) program is dedicated to promoting the value and importance of community service-learning to students, faculty and staff. SCS is involved in and works with a number of different community service-learning projects and initiatives. SCS seeks to provide students with quality service opportunities that stimulate and enhance the educational experience at all levels. Towards this goal, we look to partner with nonprofit and other service-based programs that can offer our students meaningful service experiences while addressing pressing societal needs. CaliforniaVolunteers administers the AmeriCorps portfolio in California, Citizen Corps, and the Cesar Chavez Day of Service and Learning, developed and maintains the California Volunteer Matching Network on CaliforniaVolunteers.org and guides policy development to support the nonprofit and service fields.
