Description:
San Lorenzo Tournament is Saturday, November 7th at Redwood Christian School

Volunteers are needed to enable the over 300 Northern California  Robotics teams to compete at one of the FIRST LEGO League tournaments between November 2009 and January 2010. Each event requires many volunteers with a broad spectrum of talents to support teams, volunteers, audience members and competition demands. A variety of  volunteer positions are available both technical and non-technical.

FIRST LEGO League develops critical skills in science and technology in a super-charged learning atmosphere. The competition involves teams of students, ages 9 to 14. This year, more than 150,00 young people from 50 countries will be inspired to learn more about
Transportation Solutions (this year's theme).

The teams design, build, program and test an autonomous LEGO  Mindstorms robot developed to solve several challenges that relate  to real world problems developed with transportation experts. In addition, the teams learn about and create an innovative project  solution that focuses on issues relevant to transportation issues.   Students acquire skills such as problem solving, project management,  critical thinking and teamwork: skills necessary to their future and the future of society.

We need  judges and referees to help!   Giving your time helps to cement the importance of math, science, techology and engineering skills to our next generation.
