 Lenawee YOUTH Leadership Camp

Lenawee YOUTH Leadership Camp (LYL) can help you develop leadership skills through group problem solving, hands on experiences and working with  youth assets.  You also will learn how to help out in school and in the community, while meeting new people and having fun!

We learned many things in youth leadership.  We learned how to trust other people as well as how to be a leader.  We also learned that there is a lot of things we can do for the community and that we should get more involved and help others more often.  We learned about assets.  Assets are important to have in our lives.  We also learned that we should set goals and strive to achieve them..” —Poets ‘07!

“We started not knowing how much we would learn.
But we became friends, much more than we thought we’d earn.
I hope we meet again someday, and until then so long, farewell, adios all my friends

It was a hot summer and I was bored and wanted something to do.
Then I heard about an opportunity to learn about assets and becoming a leader.
I signed up and I met some of the coolest kids.

I had no idea of what we were going to do.
40 assets to learn and games to play, so much to do and so little time.
Towers to build and snacks to eat. My summer is now complete.

It is over. I am sad. But now I know how to act right.
Sue and Paula are so smart, they were great instructors.
And know I am a leader and can go home and encourage others to build their assets.”
