Description:
On November 7, 2009, Durham Community Land Trustees (DCLT) will sponsor a Make A Difference Day project in Durham's West End neighborhoods. Make a Difference Day is a national day of neighbors helping neighbors, all across America neighbors will be coming together to help each other. Make A Difference Day was created by USA Weekend Magazine and the National Points of Light Foundation. It is held every 4th Saturday in October, but due to inclement weather on October 24th it has been postponed to November 7th.
DCLT is recruiting 50 volunteers on Make A Difference Day to help paint, landscape, and power wash homes for low-to-moderate income families in Durham's southwest central neighborhoods. Breakfast and lunch will be provided. Those interested in volunteering should submit a Volunteer Registration Form.
