The Volunteer Center is a non-profit charitable organization that strengthens the community by:

Mobilizing and inspiring volunteers

Empowering and supporting nonprofits

Enhancing community leadership and involvement

Engaging and developing corporate partnerships

Coordinating direct human service programs with the Dept of Social Services

Registering organizations must meet one of the following criteria:

1. Tax deductible non-profit registered with North Carolina
2. Public agency/organization,e.g. governmental agency or institution like a hospital
3. Agency/organization funded by the United Way
4. Service Facility such as a nursing home, retirement home, convalescent facility, daycare/childcare or afterschool program
