Who we are
The Volunteer Center of East Central Wisconsin is a not-for-profit agency. The center was created in 1995, in Appleton, after several years of study by the community, businesses and not-for-profit leaders. With the success of the Fox Valley region and the desire to be more visible in Winnebago County, a satellite office opened in Oshkosh in 2004. The mission of the Volunteer Center is to develop, coordinate and promote volunteerism to address community needs in East Central Wisconsin. In 2009, the office in Oshkosh cloesed its doors.  Winnebago County agencies and volunteers are serviced through the main office in Appleton.

What we do
The Volunteer Center mobilizes individuals, groups, schools and companies through volunteerism to address the needs of organizations and the community. The Volunteer Center is committed to bringing people and community needs together through a range of programs and services. The Volunteer Center's role is not to replace other agencies or organizations within the community, but rather to bridge the gap in services provided by agencies.

How we serve the community
Bringing people together results in a heightened understanding of community needs, an increased level of community service, a greater source of help for those in need, and an enhanced quality of life in East Central Wisconsin. These are just a few ways that we accomplish that:

• We work closely with non-profit agencies to develop, coordinate and promote their volunteer needs.
• We assist volunteers in finding the right agency and volunteer opportunity.
• We connect clubs and groups with volunteer opportunities.
• We help over 30 schools with their volunteer needs.
• We involve youth in our community to realize the benefits of volunteering early in life.
• We assist retired and senior volunteers who want to stay active in our community.
• We help companies develop and maintain Workplace Employee Volunteer Programs that benefit the company and our community.
