We're thrilled that you want to volunteer. There are so many benefits to giving back to our Valley. You're helping to make the Valley a nicer place to live. It's a great way to meet new people, or to explore new interests.

One of the questions we are most frequently asked is "What can I volunteer for?" The answer is "Anything!" From mentoring or tutoring a young person to helping build homes and everything in between; whether you want to volunteer twice a week, or twice a year - we will help you find the right opportunity for the most rewarding volunteer experience possible.

Some questions you may want to ask yourself before you get started:

• How much time do I have to give?
• Is there a cause about which I feel strongly that may need my help?
• What skills, hobbies and interests to I have that I'd like to share?
• Do I want to volunteer somewhere where I can share these skills, or do I want to try something new that involves something I've always been interested in?
• Would I be more comfortable volunteering as an individual, or as part of a group?
• Would I prefer to have direct contact with the individuals I'm assisting, or  would I help as part of a program or agency that supports my cause?
• Are there certain duties or responsibilites I don't feel comfortable with, such as handling money, being out in inclement weather or driving a distance to volunteer?
