The Volunteer Center of Clearfield County's mission is to act as a catalyst and advocate of volunteerism for the betterment of communities throughout the Clearfield County area in Pennsylvania and to provide volunteer coordinating services to this area.
Our vision is that we will increase public awareness of the importance of volunteerism and to increase the interest in the need for volunteers in non-profit organizations, agencies, and groups in need of volunteers.
History: The Volunteer Center of Clearfield County is located in rural, central Pennsylvania. It was created in 1989 as an outreach effort of the Clearfield County Area Agency on Aging, Inc. The VCCC is a centralized, coordinating clearinghouse for voluntary efforts in Clearfield County through recruitment, referral, and placement of citizens of all ages, races and sexes interested in volunteering with agencies, non-profit organizations and groups in need of volunteers.
For over 18 years, the VCCC has been linking persons interested in volunteering with organizations and groups needing volunteers. In addition, the VCCC has served as the catalyst for networking among the various volunteer organizations through the Clearfield County Volunteer Network; built public awareness and understanding of the importance of volunteerism; advocated for good volunteer management; and promoted community support of volunteer efforts.
The VCCC has been a member of the Points of Light Foundation since its inception and is a charter member of the Volunteer Centers of Pennsylvania.
