United Way of Central New York welcomes our new
Volunteer Resources Associate, Kelly Knab
United Way of Central New York recently hired Kelly Knab of Syracuse as volunteer resources associate in the Volunteer Resources Division.
In this position, Knab is responsible for recruiting, placing and retaining volunteers; maintaining a network of volunteers and volunteer-service opportunities; managing the Central New York 1-800-Volunteer.org website, providing leadership to the Corporate Volunteer Council (CVC) and Administrators of Volunteer Service (AVS); managing all volunteer initiatives at United Way and within United Way’s network; and generating excitement, inspiration and recognition of volunteerism.
Knab previously interned at United Way of New York’s Success By 6 initiative. In that position, she helped organize the 2007 Children’s Book Fest and helped develop Success By 6’s low-literacy cookbook, which is distributed free to Onondaga County residents. Prior to that, Knab interned at Designworks Advertising Agency.
Knab holds a bachelor’s degree in public relations from Syracuse University’s S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications. She graduated in December 2007.
