Varsity Letter in Community Service
The North Olympic Volunteer Center and Port Angeles High School are excited to recognize and reward students for their volunteer service in the community. Students who earn 145 or more hours of service in a year can earn a school varsity letter.
Just meet the following qualifications:
* Be a student in grades 9-12 at Port Angeles High School
* Complete at least 145 hours of community service from Apr 1, 2009—Mar 31,2010
* At least 50 hours must be from non-school related activities
* One school-related volunteer activity
What You’ll Receive
* Varsity letter for first time recipients, patches for first time
lettering in community service recipients, bars in subsequent years.
* Certificate of lettering from North Olympic Volunteer Center
* Presidential Service Award
(including pin and letter from President Obama)
* Special scholarship and recognition opportunities
Service Project:
Winter Clothing Drive October 25th to November 7th. Please encourage friends and family to donate winter clothes (coats, hats, scarves, gloves) to the Youth Corps Winter Clothing Drive. Collection boxes are located around PortAngeles at: YMCA, Library, Swains, and at elementary schools.
Next Meeting Tuesday November 17th, 5:30pm at the Donahue House (old house next to the PAHS tennis courts).
