 We accomplisth our mission by:

  • Assessing organization and volunteer needs
  • Recruiting volunteers
  • Maintaining a comprehensive matching database
  • Offering 24-hour Web-based access
  • Up to Date Community Calendar of Events
  • Offering monthly training on volunteer management for organizations, recruitment, retention & recognition

Goals:  

  1. To promote and facilitate volunteerism.
  2. To strengthen communities by enhancing the ability of the voluntary sector and other organizations to engage volunteers.

 Objectives:

  1. To encourage people to participate in voluntary organizations;
  2. Improve the capacity of organizations to benefit from the contributions of volunteers; and
  3. Enhance the experience of volunteering.

 

 

 WHO WE ARE 

The Dan River Center for Voluntarism is a United Way program.  Our cooperative partners are the Institute for Advanced Learning and Research and the Danville-Pittsylvania County Chamber of Commerce.

Our Volunteer Coordinator is Vicki Robertson and our Director is Joy Stone.
