United Way of Larimer County

Volunteer Center

The Volunteer Center Program creates a healthier, more connected community by promoting the ethic of service and being the central resource for volunteerism through collaborations.
The Volunteer Center assists individuals, groups, youth, families, businesses, schools, faith-based volunteers and nonprofit organizations looking to make a difference in our community.  Our services include:

Advocacy and Resource Center for Volunteerism
United Way believes volunteers make the difference in our community. We provide personalized volunteer referrals and weekly updates on current opportunities. Nonprofits receive assistance in developing volunteer programs. The public is also welcome to use our resource library.

Online Volunteer Software
Nonprofit organizations can list their volunteer opportunities and one-time events on our website, and volunteers can search for appropriate opportunities according to their time commitments, interests and other search criteria.

Volunteer Resource Guide
This booklet, published in partnership with the Fort Collins Coloradoan, lists ongoing volunteer opportunities throughout Larimer County . Additional copies are available.

Days of Service
Volunteers can participate in our annual service days, which include Make A Difference Day, Global Youth Service Day, National Volunteer Month and many other Days of Service.

Youth and Family Volunteerism
Support is offered to students, teachers and administrators who would like to integrate service into the K-12 learning curriculum, particularly during our annual Days of Service.  Junior high and high school students are welcome to join our Student Community Involvement Team or participate in our annual Alternative Spring Break event.  A Family Volunteering Guide is available for families who want to volunteer with young children.

Business Cares
Business Cares, a membership program, helps its members develop excellence in volunteer programs and advocates best practices in corporate volunteerism. Companies are provided with the tools necessary to involve their employees in the community, the skills to measure that involvement and the opportunity to network with other like-minded organizations.

Technical Assistance Partnership (TAP)

TAP offers professional workshops, training opportunities and consulting services to nonprofit organizations and anyone else interested in enhancing their organizational competencies.

Board Bank
Volunteers are trained and placed in nonprofit Board of Director positions according to the needs of the nonprofit and also the skill sets and interests of the volunteers. Trainings are held quarterly.
