Description:
The Fond du Lac Public Library, through its VISTA volunteers, is expanding its service to the unemployed by creating an Opportunity Center in the computer training room on the lower level of the library. Job seekers may have unlimited use of the computers to apply for jobs, prepare resumes, or practice computer skills during open lab hours. A collection of resources for the unemployed will also be available in the Opportunity Center. The Opportunity Center will be staffed during open lab hours by volunteers.
Volunteers, we need your help in assisting unemployed community members use the internet and word processing tools for job searching, applications, and resume/cover letter writing.
We will provide an orientation before beginning at the center and will continue on-the-job support throughout your service.
Experience with Microsoft Office Suite;
Basic internet searching and e-mailing skills;
Available 2-4 hours per week;
Ability to work with diverse community members
