Tutor/homework assistant
What
Description:
Tutors work with 1 or 2 students completing homework or working on needed skills as suggested by the classroom teacher--usually on phonics, reading, and/or math. Worksheets and workbooks, file folder games, and other educational games are available. Work is planned for each student by the supervisor, Marianne

Time Details:   Tutoring is offered from 5 to 7 p.m. with shifts from 5 to 6 p.m. and from 6 to 7 p.m. Tutors can attend for 1 or 2 hours for a single time or on a regular basis according to their schedules and the needs of the kids.

Volunteers Needed:   30 , Flexible
Special Requirements:   The tutor needs to speak English, use patience, and have a caring heart. The tutors are paired by the supervisor with an student who has work the tutor is familiar with. The tutor needs to be able to demonstate proper and full use of the available reference materials and model the learning process--not just feed answers to the students.
