Descripción:
Help make a house a home for a homeless family by painting and cleaning an apartment for a new client family about to move in. Open to existing groups, Family HomeStead work days provide the opportunity for significant team or group building experiences. Projects may be scheduled on weekdays or weekends throughout the year. Optimal group size is 10 - 15 people; a 4 - 6 hour time commitment is required. Family HomeStead provides on-site project supervision, all supplies, light refreshments, and an orientation to the agency. WE ARE NOT CURRENTLY ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR NEW PROJECTS. PLEASE CALL AFTER AUGUST 1, 2005 TO SEE IF THERE ARE OPPORTUNITIES AVAILABLE IN THE FALL.
Projects are open to EXISTING ADULT GROUPS ONLY. We are not scheduling youth projects at this time. Funders and protential funders receive priority in scheduling projects as do previous volunteers. Groups that are not funders are encouraged to underwrite the cost of their project with a $300 - $500 contribution whenever possible.
