What
Volunteer Center: Metro Volunteers
Description:
Tutors serve as class aides or work one-on-one with students who are working to improve their reading, writing, or math skills, studying for the GED test, or learning English. The Literacy Coalition has member programs from 8 counties in the Denver Metro area. It provides free training for tutors. On November 7th there will be a Volunteer Training Workshop at Links to Literacy, 5280 W. Ohio, Lakewood, CO 80226 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. To register for the free training call Nancy Lambott at 303-982-7484 or email her at nlambott@jeffco.k12.co.us The deadline to register is November 2nd.
In addition to training there will be an orientation for volunteers who are new to literacy programs. The orientation will cover the various programs and areas for volunteering.
