Description:
Performs work at the circulation desk under close supervision. Checks patrons out on the computerized circulation system, checking for any outstanding balances. Checks material in that is returned by patrons, checking for all parts of media sets that are returned. Places/calls holds for patrons. Answers basic questions on policy and hours of the library and refers patrons to appropriate staff for informational requests. Enters new patron data in the computer. MOST IMPORTANT has excellent customer service skills and can deal effectively with upset patrons in a calm and tactful manner.

High School Diploma/GED
Able to make change for overdue fees.
Must be able to stand for long periods of time, sit, bend, and lift.
Great attention to detail.
Ability to type a plus; at least knowledge of a keyboard.
