Description:
The City of Georgetown’s Parks and Recreation Department is looking for volunteers to help plant trees in Old Town Park in Georgetown. Heather Brewer, the City’s urban forester, is organizing the tree-planting at Old Town Park on November 7. Wear old shoes and bring a shovel is you have one. The planting starts at 9:00 AM on Saturday, November 7th. The park is located at 1262 S. Austin Ave. at the corner of W. 16. Volunteers will be planting 51 trees. Holes for the trees will be pre-dug by Parks staff. Volunteers are needed to place the trees, shovel soil around the root balls, and put mulch around the trees once they are planted. Please email Heather Brewer at hbrewer@georgetowntx.org or call and leave a message at (512) 930-6113 to help us get a head count of how many volunteers will be attending.
