Description:
The role of a Support Group Facilitator is to provide a safe environment where group participants are offered emotional support, understanding, compassion, and coping mechanisms for survival and healing.
The Support Group Facilitator will co-facilitate a group with either another volunteer or with a member of the Families and Friends staff. Groups will always have at least two (2) facilitators.
All volunteers must complete a Criminal Background Check and sign a Confidentiality Agreement.
Support Group Facilitators must attend a 30-hour pre-advocacy training and quarterly volunteer meetings. They must also obtain 12 hours of additional training every year.
