AMERICORPS VOLUNTEERS CREATE VALENTINE'S CARDS

Melissa Kelsay creating beautiful envelopes for the Valentine’s cards.

Mobile Food Express volunteers deliver food boxes regularly to the home-bound, the disabled and the elderly who are unable to go to food banks themselves. For Valentine’s Day this year they crafted hand-made Valentine’s cards and decorated flowers which were tucked inside food boxes for home-bound people who rely on deliveries by Mobile Food Express.

The 12-member ARRA AmeriCorps team spent a day creating the day brighteners with a Valentine’s Day theme. They created 117 individually designed, hand-made cards, some with poems and hand-crafted envelopes. They also wrapped colorful primroses in tissues and tied them with ribbons.
