Days of Caring: This “Neighbors Helping Neighbors” Program is the United Way Volunteer Center partnering with agencies and local businesses working together to serve the greater Midland Community.

Teams of volunteers paint homes, plant gardens, build wheelchair ramps and other general fix-up/clean-up projects for individuals unable to perform the work themselves.

Ask the Lawyer: Local attorneys provide a free 15-minute consultation for individuals with limited incomes to help with legal questions.  Ask the Lawyer is held on the 3rd Thursday, every month in January through November.

Rake A Difference: Part of the national Make A Difference Day held in October & November.  Groups and families rake yards for area seniors and persons with health issues.

Sharing Tree: A community wide gift-giving program held November to mid December that fulfills holiday wishes and year round needs of Midland County residents.  This United Way Volunteer Center program had over 12,600 requests for assistance in 2008.

Community Wish List:   Do you have items that are in good shape and want to locate an organization that may need your used sofa, dryer or leftover craft items?  Or office supplies you no longer use? The United Way Volunteer Center can help you locate a new home  for your items.  The Wish List is a compilation of items that area agencies are in need of throughout the year.

Lunch Box Learners:  A program that pairs an adult volunteer with a school-aged child to read at lunch.  The purpose of the program is to foster a love of reading in the child and provide a positive role model.  This program runs September through May.
