Programs

The Volunteer Resource Department with United Way of Greater Stark County consists of several different programs.  The goal is to increase volunteerism by connecting individuals with opportunities in the community.  For more information on any of the programs listed below, please contact Kimberly Douce at 330-491-9985 or kdouce@uwgsc.org.

  • Management Assistance Program (MAP) - a training and management consultation program.  Through this program, their is also a central repository and lending library of resource materials related to nonprofit management. 
  • Corporate Volunteer Council (CVC) - a coalition of businesses that promotes and supports workplace volunteering.  Provides monthly meetings and training opportunities as well as quarterly service projects.
  • Volunteer awards and recognition - Publicly recognizing volunteers through awards and special events.
  • Day of Caring - provides an opportunity for local nonprofit organizations to benefit from the help of hundreds of volunteers.
  • Youth Programs - promotes youth volunteerism by providing ongoing volunteer opportunities, coordinating group projects for youth, and helping organization to better involve youth.  This will include: a Youth Day of Caring, Youth Volunteer Opportunities, Youth Council and Kids Care Club.
