The following on-going programs provide services and volunteer support to nonprofit organizations, individuals and businesses throughout Sonoma County:
Volunteer Referral Services - Recruits, refers and recognizes over 1200 volunteers annually, while providing support to over 800 agencies enabling them to develop and maintain volunteer programs.
Youth Volunteer Corps - Provides youth the opportunity to develop leadership skills and become active community citizens through the Youth Service Advisory Council, Summer Corps, peer led trainings and regular volunteer projects.
Volunteer Wheels - Operates ADA paratransit service for Sonoma County. Volunteer Wheels staff and volunteers provide approximately 50,000 one-way trips per year while serving over 3000 people.
Retired & Senior Volunteer Program - Provides Sonoma County with volunteers 55+ with a focus on education, health, senior centers and nutrition, over 900 RSVP volunteers donated more thatn 125,000 hours of service this past year to 250 Sonoma County service organizations.
The Literacy Connection - Schools receive help to recruit, screen, train and evaluate volunteer tutors. these on-going services extend to every school in the Sonoma County districts with an emphasis on low-income areas.
Resource Center for Nonprofits - Offers 60 workshops each year; provides support to boards of directors through board trainings, and presents monthly rountable trainings for nonprofit staff and volunteers. A reference library and an on-line computer center are available for nonprofits seeking funding sources and other information.
Human Services Information & Referral - Volunteer staff offer information and referral services to more than 17,000 people, linking them to communtiy agencies that can assist with emergency food, shelter, legal aid, housing, counseling, transportation adn jobs - the connections people need.
Court Referral - Uses community service as part of sentencing. Over 2500 adults and juveniels work at 275 or more agencies throughout the county each year providing over 100,000 hours of service to nonprofit agencies.
