SEPTEMBER WAS NATIONAL PREPAREDNESS MONTH
(So, how did it go?)
Of the three major activities...
Preparedness Challenge: FIRST, an acknowledgement of the contributors to the printing of the 20,000 Preparedness Challenge brochures:
Citizen Corps
NECO Security
Runza
The brochures were distributed to schools throughout the Lincoln area and posted on several websites and publicized in the media. We are in the process of reviewing the returned Challenges and will conduct a drawing for the prizes soon...and then an update.
Business Interruption Planning workshop: Provided the 29th of September, the halfday workshop was well attended by a variety of businesses, including some nonprofit organizations. Feedback was very positive.
Preparedness Presentations: A few presentations were provided; not as many as last year but bottomline, more residents have been exposed to good, common-sense preparedness activities than prior to September 1st. (However, the publicity of the availability resulted in four presentations being scheduled/provided for October and November!)
