Community Volunteer Recognition
NATIONAL VOLUNTEER WEEK: April 18th to 24th
In connection with National Volunteer Week, Volunteer Partners hosts an annual Community-wide Volunteer Recognition event. The Mayor attends, a Community Volunteerism Advocate receives a plaque, excellent appetizers are provided AND, the attending volunteers are recognized by their agency representatives. This is always a very nice event and everyone leaves feeling good about themselves, our local agencies and the community in general.
Prior to the event, a 'mini' survey is conducted of our partner agencies with regard to the number of volunteers and hours they put in last year. From that information, a symbolic check is prepared in the value of the volunteer hours reported. Last year, the check was:
$44,377,321!
