Our Programs

In addition to offering opportunities for episodic (one-day) and on-going volunteerism through our relationships with hundreds of local not-for-profit agencies, here are the programs The ManaTEENs specifically maintain.

NEW Initiative!! Journalism Project! Very exciting and excellent experience for budding journalists, writers and broadcasters! Contact us if you are a youth who wants to get involved and trained for this potentially high profile project!!

    • Adopt-A-Grandparent

Inter-generational program allowing for families to "adopt" and include seniors in their daily lives.

    • Big Breath And Bark

Volunteers & ManaTEENs raise funds to equip all local firetrucks with canine and feline oxygen masks. This program is being replicated nationally!

    • Books and Birthdays

Volunteers & ManaTEENs visit first-grade classrooms each month to read a book to children and give copies of the books to those celebrating birthdays that month.

    • EnviroTEENs

Volunteers & ManaTEENs who enjoy focusing on environmental issues meet throughout the year to assist county and state parks with outdoor needs.

    • Home Safety for Seniors

Volunteers visit senior citizens in their homes, assessing safety needs and delivering $100 in free products.

    • Johnson-Harllee Community Collaboration

JHCC is a group of local agencies united by the Knight Foundation to focus on youth at Johnson and Harllee middle schools.

    • ManaTEENs as Mentors

Peer mentoring is offered at all elementary, middle and high schools in Manatee County.

    • ManaTEEN Advisory Council

ManaTEEN policy making group that promotes more direct interaction with the teens in the membership.

    • Nosey Neighbors

Volunteers & ManaTEENs host neighborhood blockparties and publish directories to acquaint neighbors.

    • Operation PainTEEN

Volunteers & ManaTEENs paint the exterior of home for families in need for....FREE!

    • PAWS

Coordination of pet food donations and deliveries to senior citizens.

    • Pets in Emergencies Guidebook

Resource Directory of "Pet Friendly" facilities in the event of a disaster.

    • Reef Rakers

The Reef Rakers website : Middle school youth paired with college students SCUBA down and clean artificial reefs in the bay.

    • Rent-A-Kid

Program connecting youth to citizens who would like lawn-mowing and other services at a low cost.

    • Rudolph's Red Nose Express

Christmas Eve delivery of new Hasbro toys by ManaTEEN officers dressed as elves.

    • Some Assembly Required

Volunteers & ManaTEENs will assemble gifts (bikes, swingsets, etc.) during the holiday season.

    • SPaRC (Student Preparedness and Readiness Coalition)

Homeland Security service-learning projects are implemented throughout the year.

    • Tidy Tombstones

Cemetery Mapping, landscaping and restoration of Manatee County's three county owned neglected cemeteries.

    • Volunteer Reception Center

Headquarters for spontaneous volunteers in post-disaster situations.

    • Weekend Dads

Weekend volunteer opportunities developed for non-custodial parents and their children.

    • YRR (Youth Ready to Respond)

CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) training is offered at middle schools throughout the year.
