  • Aging Sensitivity
    And interactive course designed to help individuals better understand many of the challenges faced by our aging population. Try to thread a needle to simulate arthritis and glasses to simulate glaucoma! This course is a prerequisite for participation in any of our services to seniors programming. (2 hour course)

     

    CERT
    Disaster preparedness, mitigation and response modules are offered to the community for the purpose of assisting during or after a disaster. (17-24 hour course)

     

    PYLI
    Points of Light Youth Leadership Institute. Providing tools and resources for youth leadership to lead them towards becoming local decision makers. (PYLI is produced by the Points of Light Foundation – the presentation format ManaTEENs use is generally a 20 hour course)

     

    SLIC
    Service Learning Impacting Citizenship. A course to expand civic skills and knowledge among youth that also empowers them to focus volunteer efforts where they are most interested. Animal Welfare, Disaster Preparedness, Environment, Homelessness, Hunger, Literacy, Teen Health, Senior Services and more are featured. (SLIC is produced by the Points of Light Foundation – 8-16 hour course)

  • * VMTS
    The Volunteer Center also runs Points of Light Foundation's Volunteer Management Training Series (VMTS) periodically throughout the year. This 15-20 hour course helps raise the not-for-profit profession by certifying Volunteer Managers to work with volunteers.
