Volunteers: Use the Quick Search located in the toolbar above or the advanced search on the left to find volunteer opportunities in southern Maryland!

Visit our calendar for events, volunteer trainings and volunteer opportunities.

Creating a volunteer account will allow you to view the contact information for each volunteer opportunity. In addition, once you find a volunteer opportunity that interests you, you may submit the online form to the agency sponsoring the opportunity and it will automatically be emailed to the agency with your message and contact information. They will contact you about volunteering. Your volunteer account also allows you to track your volunteer hours, receive automatic updates when new opportunities are posted according to your interests, and more. Agencies interested in registering your opportunities?

Join us as a partner agency to sign up your organization to begin recruiting volunteers using the power of the Internet and Volunteer Southern Maryland! Click here to sign up your agency today!  We only allow non-profit agencies to register with our database (501 (c)(3) groups, schools, government agencies, churches).  Therefore, your account will not be activated by our office until we have verified that you belong to one of these non-profit groups.  If you do not see your agency appear on the database within 2 business days, please contact our office to check on your status.

Service-Learning Program

Before a student can be placed with a community partner the non-profit must create a listing through the 1-800-Volunteer.org website.   In doing so, we are asking that all non-profit agencies agree to the following:

1. Provide students with a worthwhile and challenging service task that meets the students’
    learning objectives.

2. Provide students with a supervisor during their service.

3. Orient students to the agency's rules, policies, procedures, methods and operations,
    community issues, and population served.

4. Complete and sign the Service Learning Placement Agreement, Hours Log and Student
Evaluation if these are presented to you by the student.

5. Provide a safe and appropriate working environment.

For more information about our service-learning program, please contact Sarah Merranko, Director, Center for Civic Engagement and Service-Learning at 301-934-2251, 7367 or sarahm@csmd.edu
