The VCSHC manages a highly regarded disaster volunteer initiative, encouraging successful volunteer involvement in all four phases of disasater.
Founding Partners: The VCSHC was created out of a partnership formed by the Association of Community Services of Howard County, Columbia Association, The Columbia Foundation, Governor’s Office for Service and Volunteerism, The Horizon Foundation, Howard County Association of Volunteer Administrators, Howard County Department of Citizen Services, and the United Way of Central Maryland Community Partnership Program.
Mission Statement: to stimulate and expand volunteerism in the community through connecting people to non-profit and public agencies in order to improve the quality of life for all people in Howard County.
