-Engaging people in volunteer service,

providing solutions and support for community needs,

in order to improve the quality of life of our residents-

The Volunteer Center was formed in 1977 to provide solutions to the community through the promotion of volunteerism and assistance to local organizations that utilize volunteers. Since that time The Volunteer Center has become a clearinghouse for many aspects of volunteerism; including volunteer recruitment, placement, referral, and management. Annually, The Volunteer Center engages over 6,000 individuals and groups in service to the community.

Our most effective mobilization takes place on Make A Difference Day, an annual day of service sponsored by The Points of Light Foundation and USA Weekend. In 2007, we had one of our largest volunteer turn outs, with over 8,000 people giving their time to help support Flagler and Volusia Counties. Make A Difference Day 2008 is October 25th! Hope you'll join us!

We hope that YOU, the volunteer, will find an opportunity that interests you within these pages. As always, if you need any assistance, please do not hesitate to contact our office at (386)253-0563.

 Regards-

 The Volunteer Center Staff
